Budget (including currency): cheap as possible

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3D-modeling, schoolwork, and games like league, brawlhala, phasmophobia.

Other details: I'm trying to upgrade an already pretty decent computer for what I use it for. I want to slowly upgrade everything over time just deciding on what's best for the moment and the order I should buy new parts in. All advice appreciated thank you.

 

Current spec list

intel i5 4670k

8gb 2600 ram

No gpu

1tb hard drive

Simple stock cooler on cpu

Get an SSD and move your OS over to it

 

Add another 8GB of memory

 

GPU will be required to gain any significant performance in games

So you dont think I should focus on upgrading the cpu? And is that the order you'd recommend slowly buying it in?

I mean if youre trying to minimize price, no point in putting money into upgrading platform.

 

If you can spend 300-500$ then move over to a ryzen apu, new motherboard, ram, ssd all at once.

You say as low as possible so here it is. This is assuming non prebuilt, if you are using a prebuilt system i highly recommend you to just sell the system, and build from ground up.
