Unsharp video

Recently i have turned off sharpening on my camera and HD video became noticeably unsharper. is that normal?

You do realize the words you used in that sentence sort of define it, right?

 

Post a video so we can see if the "unsharpness" is within reasonableness?

both of them are in focus.

 

4k looks better on a 1080p screen even with the massive crop

What camera? What settings?

 

Is the shot in focus, that looks out of focus.

 

How are you editing the video? Normally Id do sharpening in post.

1. i havent changed focus

2. eos m50 2160p25 and 1080p25

3. pics i have sent were just screencaps made with vlc. no editing/reconversion was done

 

p.s.looking back at the footage, the main part of the key was in fact, out of focus.

the part on which you connect your key to a keychain was in focus tho. and as you can see, it is pretty darn blurry

 

 

 

i'll redo these outside tomorrow

What ISO/Shutter speed/aperture are you using?It seems to be pretty grainy.

 

Id work on your focus. HOw are you setting focus? Manually?

 

What lens?

 

Why not turn up sharpness in the camera? Id either turn the sharness to the middle in the camera, or turn it off in camera, and add some in post.
