GTX 1660ti (Mobile) and G-sync

madalinnec

Hello!

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-76MY,  i7-10750H, GTX 1660ti. I was thinking about purchasing a monitor with 144Hz refresh rate and G-sync compatible. However, on different forums I've found that G-sync would work only over DP. Of course, on my laptop I have only HDMI. On NVIDIA's website I found a link that says this generation should. have G-sync over HDMI as well.
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4764/~/do-g-sync-compatible-displays-work-on-both-displayport-and-hdmi-with-geforce
Does anyone know for sure if G-sync would work over HDMI for my GPU?

Also, if it does, any recommendation for a monitor G-sync compatible (over HDMI 2.1) and with 144Hz refresh rate in the area of 200USD would be appreciated.

Here's what Nvidia has certified to work with as G-Sync compatible.

You can search for HDMI, but it's essentially just LG TVs right now.

Thank you for that! I saw that list, yet I wasn't 100% sure that my GPU, because it's a mobile one, would have G-sync over HDMI.

I know that there are monitors compatible, but not added to the list. If my GPU supports it, I'll try to see if there is a monitor with that.

I think mobile implementation of GSync depends on the specific VBIOS and integration of the GPU the laptop OEM has used. I don't know how to verify if it will work or not.

Hopefully someone else can weight in on that piece of it.
