Hi, I recently built a pc with a b450 Asus Rog strix f-gaming paired along with a Ryzen 5 5800x, rtx 3070ti, 32gb ram 3600, 750w corsair powersupply, corsair h115i AIO, 1tb m.2, and 2 2tb ssds.

but after installing all of my parts i noticed it wouldn’t boot and said no display and after some research i found out my motherboard has to be updated and after hours of trying to find out what was wrong i came to the conclusion that the only way im going to get my motherboard updated if i buy a cheap CPU on ebay for about 50-60€ (i contacted local pc repair stores and got quoted 150€)

also the lights and fans of every component turns on and spins so that’s a plus just the cpu doesn’t work until the bios is updated

so is it a good idea to buy a cpu for 60€ just to update bios

If buying wisely you can sell the cpu for similar price, so it's not a 60€ loss.

yeah that’s what i was thinking i could just put it back on ebay and even make a bit of the money back just saves me from paying a company 150€ to do it
