Not sure why you want to do this. Are you having an issue with backwards compatibility of USB 3.0?

Not sure if there is a setting like that in laptop BIOS, as a lot of settings acessible in laptop BIOSes are hidden from the user interface or restricted.

I looked in the manual GL502VM. Not sure which exact model you have, Asus site shows several models. Nothing in the manual about this setting.

If it exists, it would be under a section for USB settings. You will have to hunt through all the menus. It might not be an option on your system.

Thanks.Checked under USB settings. But no luck. Need to disable it to install Windows. This stupid laptop doesn't have any 2.0 ports.

Is the laptop not detecting the USB stick as a bootable device?

Sometimes this can be due to the setup looking for the device to be setup as UEFI but it was created as MBR (Master Boot Record) or vice versa. Make sure, if the laptop is in UEFI mode, that the USB drive is created for UEFI booting. Or MBR if the laptop is set to boot legacy (MBR).

Also try disabling Secure Boot in BIOS, if that is an option.

USB 3.0 should be backwards compatible with 2.0 devices.

Also, could try enabling CSM (Compatibility Support Module).

And if I recall correctly, UEFI mode wants the USB to be formatted in FAT32, not NTFS.

No problem.

1 last thing, are you using the Windows 10 Media Creator tool or some other tool to make a bootable USB such as Yumi, Rufus, etc?

You might have to try some other method than USB if you can't get it to work.
