3080 dying?

I was playing some fallout 76, suddenly on my second monitor which was sitting on desktop with discord on half the screen started showing little black rectangles at random spots, over a minute or so some shot over to the main monitor and then color glitching started all over both monitors, i immediately restarted the pc and re-installed the drivers, just did a "custom" reinstall with the clean box checked.

 

Haven't seen this before, but I have had both a major windows update and a nvidia driver update in the last 2 days.

 

This gpu never really goes above 80c for main temp, the memory does, thats always 6-10c over the main temp. I was running with 2 pcie cords for ahwile but recently (two weeks ago) got rid of the bunny ear on the second/third spot and added in a third pcie cord.

Could it really be dying? or is this probably just a fluke or driver issue

 

Edit: I have also noticed texture glitching on the news popup when you launch fallout 76, the bottom half always looks like a oil painting of random colors, but thats every single bootup, even with multiple drivers, i figured it must be the game.

Edit: also this gpu has been ran through all of the tests before, a brief furmark, other gpu tests and it never had a problem and never overheated ever

I got this gpu/computer from NZXT BLD, and i have since replaced the psu and case, the cpu cooler and all the fans and boot drive, so it's not like i can just send them back the entire pc.

does evga cover stuff, through a prebuilt?

Im assuming they are going to want me to send it back to nzxt in full in the event i had to

Here's this, this glitch hasn't been fixed with like 2 driver updates now, i don't know if its my gpu or the game.

Only place i see re-occuring glitch, it's always identical, the glitch does not change in color or size either

idk man, its probly the game, maybe put heatsinks on the ram

Do a MSI Kombustor artifact scanning test and report back..good luck!

did a preset 1440 fullscreen artifact scanner on with 0 artifacts, going to do some stress testing now

6 minute stress test at 3440x1440 fullscreen zero artifacts, only got to 72c

btw bitdefender claims it found and isolated a trojan in the official kombuster download

"The file C:\Program Files\Geeks3D\MSI Kombustor 4 x64\plugins\plugin_gxc_physx4_x64.dll is infected with Gen:Variant.Razy.900578 and was moved to quarantine"

 

Edit: And i ran 2 minutes of a different "hard" test and had no artifacts either

If it doesn't do it in a bunch of games id say the GPU is fine.

Try Furmark too. It really gets your GPU going.

 

Are you using a riser cable by any chance ?

gona refrain from furmark, tbh cod mw gets the gpu just as hot and i play that for hours nonstop

no riser cable

 

Haven't seen any glitching in 24 hours now other than the menu glitch on f76 which is ongoing
