Ok guys so I built my pc and got everything working but it’s literally killing me because I can’t play it, I have a master liquid 240ml v2 rgb and my cpu is reaching 90 degrees, if I left it on I’m sure it would keep rising till I don’t have a cpu, ive tried re applying thermal paste and changing positions on the aio, I have it top mounted, the pump is well below the radiator, I don’t wanna front mount it because I don’t know how to take the front panel off, I’m bout to go to geek squad if I can’t figure this out and get charged like 400 for them to replace a cooler lmao help me please

Alright, dumb question first: did you remove any plastic that may have been on the cooler?

Is it mounted properly, making good contact?

Is the pump actually running? I think you should be able to feel some sort of vibration or hear some humming if you get up close.

Yes but I’m not sure if it’s making good contact or not I don’t really know how to check that and I do hear a vibration is that air ?

You can take off the cooler and look at how the thermal paste has spread.

I’m not really sure how it’s supposed to look I mean it’s spread but like a lil fucked up I feel like

You can post a picture of it, people can share what they think.

Another dumb question: are the fans spinning?

Yes they are butttttt I have my aio fans set to exhaust… I did some research and I heard that shouldn’t affect the cpu but maybe it is ?

Some basic triage/diag steps

  1. Do you see the Rad fans spinning & do you hear the AIO Pump running
Little trick is to place a screwdriver on the face of the AIO and put the handle to your ear - it will amplify the noice inside the AIO pump header to check if you can hear the impeller spinning / water running
  2. Check thermal paste spread pattern
When you remove the AIO from the CPU you should see a good coating of paste across the CPU face
  3. Check FAN & PUMP headers
Looking at your main board you have 2x CPU fan headers & 2x PUMP headers - I would assume that the rad fans would connect to the CPU fan headers, and the AIO pump connects to either SYS_FAN5_PUMP or SYS_FAN6_PUMP headers
    image.thumb.png.eb34bf5cc785ca02ac3de6bf15190f7d.png
  4. Check the BIOS to make sure that fan/pump speeds are set.  Again looking at the manual, there is mention of 0 RPM running for the fan headers.  Might be worth checking to make sure the curve / temp settings here are OK

General suggestion online is to connect the AIO pump to the CPU header.  This way if the pump stops spinning (aka 0 RPM CPU FAN) then likely you will not complete POST so you have less chance to damage anything.

This would imply that the header used needs to be set to fixed RPM within BIOS or Fan control software.

Standard triage rules apply.

Check & change ONE thing at a time, then re-test.  This way you will know what fixed the issue.

Probably it's wise to check the AIO if the pump works or not, as no water flow meams the heat stuck there. You'd probably feel/hear water flowing.

Humor me, as you should do.

Looks like a good amount of paste applied.

next I would check BIOS for fan header speeds to make sure they are not 0.

Also check to see if you can hear AIO pump running when power on.

for initial short testing you could unplug all fans, just leaving pump connected to reduce noise in the case. Obviously don’t run long period like this
