GPU spinning at 100% for no reason

Pcnoob745

Hi guys/women/other!

My GPU is experience a problem whenever I Fullscreen alt+tab out from Minecraft

The GPU starts spinning at 100% for no apparent reason.

I understand if the GPU starts spinning a bit in Minecraft, but when the GPU doesnt focus on the game, it shouldnt be spinning at that.

The graphics processing unit also spins at 100% when it has completely cooled down (26 Degrees Celsius)

I have tried modifiying the Fans' speed with Afterburner, didn't work!

My GPU is an RX590

Specifications:

MOBO: AsRock B450 PRO4

PSU: some kind of Corsair 80+ bronze

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x

GPU Radeon RX590

RAM 16 GB G.skill Ripjaws 3200mhz

Fans: Xilince and Aerocool

When you say the "GPU starts spinning", just to be clear you're talking about the fan(s), correct? You should absolutely be able to take control of the fan and curve using Afterburner but without knowing everything that's been done on this system so far, you may want to start with a DDU wipe and fresh driver install.

At least we'll know that's been done if the problem persists.

Takes 5-10 minutes including the driver reinstall. You can follow the instructions on their website, but basically, you boot in safe-mode, use the tool, reboot, and reinstall your drivers.

I've found that if anything, getting into safe mode in Windows 10 is the complex part for people who need to ask for tutorials.

TBH just run it without safe mode if that's easier. Select AMD GPU drivers then Clean and Reboot.

Like ever? Probably the Holocaust. But if you take a step back from there, then maybe religious and racial intolerance in general since it leads to so much pain, suffering, and death.

That it dies completely.. but not from running DDU. It just uninstalls and wipes any drivers that are installed in your system.
