Issues with audio

Hi, the Realtek audio console will open, load for a minute or 2 then say "could not connect to rpc service." Can someone please help? Can provide more detail if necessary.

I don’t think I can likely answer this one but additional details I can see almost certainly being needed is the general state of the machine and what you are trying to connect to.  Realtek has been around for a long time.  This could be an add-on card for a win98 machine or something.

What motherboard? Try downloading audio drivers from the motherboard site instead of letting Windows do it, Windows probably installs some generic driver.

New, attempting to connect to 3.5 mm ports on my case/mobo (MSI B450) I've turned off front panel jack detection but I'm still not getting any sound. The headset works with my laptop and my xbox but not this.
