My M.2 drive is under performing (HALF THE ADVERTISED READ/WRITE SPEED)

Hey gang, i just wanted to see if anyone had any advice for me concerning my underperforming m.2. (needed the pcie adapter because I already my an m.2 directly plugged into my motherboard)

CPU - ryzen 5 2600x

MB - b450 tomahawk max

ty for reading anything would help

It wouldn't surprise me if the PCIE adapter was throttling it, have you tried running a benchmark using the M.2 slot that is already being used?

Its a dual card. If they can both fit NVME then it's running on 2 lanes which is 1.969 GB/s MAX, seems like the best explanation for it. Also if you're only using NVME, you can lose the sata cable.
