Hello everyone, And thanks for stoping by to check out my build.

So I'll start this with a little bit of history about me and my build / builds. When I was young, I was never really into computers or gaming. One day a package came in the mail for my dad a monster of a case. ( he still has it just got a second one a few years back now) him and I would go to this massive computer store and pick out part, when he saved up his spare change. My dad got his computer running and start playing the old games like doom and duke. ( older games than that I just cannot for the life of me remember but I digress.) I would bug and bug him to let me play, but u guessed it I got the big No, lol. My dad started to bring home the computers from his work that they had replaced with new ones, and he let me build my first computer out of old used parts. I don't remember all the parts but I remember, firing my first CPU after being told not to change settings in the bios, lol. ( trying to push an old CPU to 800Mhz wooo)  Ever since that first computer I have been hooked, have built 7 computers.
Well I guess I should move onto the build log and stop boring you good people with my story.

The idea behind this build is always changing, I never know what or how I want something to look.
The one thing I have to complain about, is that everything is being made smaller and smaller, from that first case my dad got when I was little I have always like really big cases ( ill post picks if I can).
Full towers ... Not big enough lol.
So I was going to mate two cases together till I found this case.

i dont have pics of yet, but i have only just started the build

My system specs:

Cool Masters Haf stacker 935 + 915R

I went with this case because it was huge with lots of room for modding, room to grow with the new hardware that comes out. I have try a few diff. cases that where fine but non felt like it was mine. The plan to start with was to make my own case and still might one day but with how much I work, it is just not an option right now. When I first seen pics of this case I thought it was not the case for me, but I seen it in the store in person .... looks way better in person than in pics, so I had to bring it home lol.

Gigabyte G1 Sniper M5

Intel I7 4770K

Well I went to the store to get the G1 Sniper 5, ended up with the M5.Money shortage got the M5 for about 200 less, I know I'm missing out on some .. A lot of expiation but ill upgrade it for to somthing newer down the road. And why gigabyte kind of a fan boy for gigabyte, my first real build of a computer was a GA-965P-DQ6 with a duo core @ 1.86 stock and OC to 3.50, had it to 4 but wasn't really stable. Beast of a CPU, witch die a few months back and is why I'm building a new system.

Kinston value ram 8Gb 2X4 sticks

Read why this mobo for back story. Had a really good socket 775 duo core that OC well and I want to do some good OC and I wanted something fast that would last if I don't upgrade for a few hardware release

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 760

Cheap got my compuer up and running

corsair cx600m

Impulse buy with a little bit of research( some friends say I should have looked a bit more lol) pay'ed under 300 for the card, I'm happy with it so far runs everything at Max no problems 1080P

Kinston 120Gb ssd
Seagate 1Tb hdd

this list is a work inprogress, as i got this hardwear when i had a small buget, Im in the prosses of trying to move into a new place so im saving my change again for better parts.
Suggestions are welcome for new parts or idears.

so far i have got the HDDs mounted in the top section of the case might move them, I have some  Dazmode stuff coming: cable sleeving and UV strips and connectors.
Dont know if im going to like the UV but im a try it out. i plan on getting a new PSU and making custom cables as the case is Very big. and i plan on doing a big water cooling setup.
I know the sleeving is kinda point less if im getting a new PSU but its so i can get an idear how how it will look and learn how to do it right.

I'm going to have to drill some hold in the case, even though theirs lots of cable management it is missing some hole's in just the right spots.
as it is late and i have to work tomorrow, im going to leave it here, i will work on it tomorrow as parts are coming in and will post pics as i take them.
sorry for making you guys / girls eat your veggies, ill be cooking the meat real soon lol.
ps. ill try in use spoilers to shrink post as i go, don't know how to use them yet.

I kind of want to see pics if that case your father got in the mail :o .

Still interesting though! I don't usually look at build logs, thus I haven't seen any with the HAF stacker yet!

Would you mind giving parts rationale?

I.E

I picked this CPU because of....

You get the point. (I hope).

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

  • 11 months later...

sorry to anyone that was fallowing this build, its still on going. i have almost everything to get going on it , but as its my main pc i haven't done anything other than get it running and install some lights.
something that i really should have waited on was the video card when i started buying parts. i have the gigabyte gtx geforce 760... no water blocks where made for it and well now theirs way better cards on the market.

saving my moneys for a 980 or maybe even a titan x.

i have also since have had a few hardware  failures , 2 HDDS both Seagate, sorry Seagatetheir's no 3 times the charm here.
entermax evo galaxy 1250 had a bad fan.
3 fans with leds that died
my corsair k70 key bored leds (blue) 4 are dead now... (might do custom leds)
so im kinda starting over, with sending things in for rma and saving for new replacements.
still love the case just wish it had better cable management
