I had no Idea that if you have an ASUS VG248QE monitor you could install G-Sync yourself check it out.

It isn't really "DIY" when you have to almost completely dismantle the monitor (which can be dangerous if you don't know what not to touch).

Didn't Linus do a video on this? And it wasn't very "do it yourself" imho, it was way to involved for my comfort. 

Aside from it being very hard, wouldn't modifying a monitor void its warranty.
