I switched to a new laptop but my ping on my 2.4 ghz connection always spikes every few minutes. This never happened on my old one but this also doesn't happen on my 5 ghz connection. My 5 ghz connection isnt always available and just wanted to ask if anyone had any idea whats going on?

Probably too many devices using 2.4 Ghz. You might be on a crowded channel. 2.4 Ghz has 11 channels that are used. Channels 1, 6 and 11 dont overlap and are considered the better channels to use. However using a WiFi analyzer on your phone might help you choose a better channel. Also other devices like Bluetooth, cordless phones, and Microwave ovens to name a few also use the 2.4 Ghz band. 2.4 Ghz in my opinion is only for low priority devices.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
