Is there a specific case you want, amd or intel, amd or nvidia?, does color matter, water or air cooling?

Total: $983 in my location could down grade the ssd.

 Intel Core i5-3570K - $230

 SAMSUNG 840 250GB SSD - $190

 CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB - $63

 MSI Z77A-G43 - $110

 CORSAIR HX series HX650  - $140

XFX Double D Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition - $250

Hope this helps and you can change the ssd to a 150gb and a 1tb hdd and save a bit.

Intel i5 3570K - 200

ASUS Maximus v gene - 180

AMD 7950 Saphire - 300

WD Black 1TB - 90

Corsair TX650 - 80

Corsair Vengeance 8 GB(4x2) - 66

if you want you can downgrade to a 7870 just in case u want to only spend 900$ or the motherboard.

For $900 might I suggest the following, Prices are from Australia so may be different but this will give you an idea of a nice balanced gaming rig for the price.

Bitfenix Prodigy with window ($80)

AMD fx8320 ($180)

AsRock 970 Extreme 3 ($100)

8Gb Corsair ram ($70)

AMD 7870 ($210)

Silverstone strider 500watt psu ($60)

Samsung 840 120Gb ssd ($100)

WD Green 2Tb hdd ($100)

Alternately the i5 3470 is a good grab on the intel side of things. But the 8320 is basically an underclocked 8350 and would be slightly ahead in terms of gaming.

I would suggest the same things as in the text you quoted, except I would say go for a cheaper motherboard, such as a MSI Z77A-G43, Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H, ASRock Extreme4 Z77, or a decent cheap Asus board. Use the left over money to get yourself an SSD instead of a normal harddrive.

That would give you an all around beast of a PC.

8320 - 160

ASUS crosshair v formula - 220 + then u'll need to a mid tower cabinet.

although the reason i didnt recommend AMD is.. 3 of my friends have the 8350 and they all have heating issues without after market headsinks.

although i wouldnt recommend getting a cheaper mobo cause then you might miss out on features like better onboard audio and stuff.

SupremeFx audio on the ROG boards is a little tard better then other onboard audios like the Realtek.
