Hey Guys I am coming into a bit of cash soon, and thought I would get a new PC, as my current one is getting a bit long in the tooth, (2015 hardware), and for the first time in my life I am going to have some cash to throw at it so I want to build a bit of a beast. I will list below what I am thinking about currently, I have no desire to have a heap of RGB, or any if possible, and the aesthetics of the case do not matter, I just want performance. The 10k is a soft maximum, and I also would need a VR setup.

Specifically, what do you expect your day to day use to be?

When you are working on video editing, what are you doing to warrant a system like this?

Here's for half. B550 and X570 also includes bluetooth 5.1 and wifi 6 as their standard loadout, so you dont need to add in a network card. You can go with whatever monitor you want, but Odyssey G7 from samsung is a good endgame monitor.

Recommend 100% SSD storage for ultimate performance!

For the extra fans, get a 2-to-1 PWM case fan splitter. I couldn't find them online for Australia (have to be shipped and not sure if they could be shipped to you or not), but if you have a local electronics store, you can just get them there too. Un-mount the 120mm case fan from the front, and mount it at the top of the case (as an exhaust fan). Mount the 2 140mm case fans to the front of the case (as intake fans), connect the fan cables to the splitter, and connect the splitter to one of the case fan headers on the motherboard.

Am I still to create the perfect system?! ~ Clu

Horribly overpriced ram, its not even good, get crucial ballistix 3600mhz cl16 rams or whatever 3200mhz cl16 64gb kit

850w platinum is horrible value, go for 850w gold or 1000/1200w platinum, id suggest the msi mpg and revolution df for 850w gold, id suggest corsair hxi for 1000w or 1200w

Get a fuma 2 or gelid phantom cpu cooler as i bet yoy arent overclocking anyways, though if you do consider the liquid freezer 280-420 aios

Swap the board for an x570 tomahawk or b550 gaming edge wifi as they both have wifi so you can ditch the wifi card, though if you overclock consider the b550 e/xe, unify, x570 crosshair boards

970 evo is quite overpriced, go for a pilot e 2tb ssd instead

Decent case, maybe add a fan or 2

Thanks mate, the ballistix wasn't avaliable on the site i used to put together the build, but thats not an issue, and I will definantly look into those other components.
Mother board chips sets are a big hole in my knowledge. I might have to do some research there.

I like the build, but if I were you I'd go with 32GB, at least 1000W to handle the power spikes from the 3090, maybe a 500gb NVMe and then a big capacity HDD, like a 2 TB. For the RAM, try finding 3600MHz.

System Specs

  • ASUS ROG Strix B560-G Wifi
  • be quiet! Shadow Rock 3
  • Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB 3600Mhz
  • Intel i5-11400F
  • ASUS TUF RTX 3070 Ti Oc
  • NZXT C750
  • Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500gb
  • W.D 2TB 7200RPM

I was going to chuck my old mechanical drives in it for extra storage, I am putting together a new build as we speak
