I have a prebuilt Omen (hp) computer, it originally came with a optane 16gb drive in my only m.2 slot and a 1tb hard drive. I wanted to upgrade it to a 1tb samsung 980, but as soon as I swapped it out it came with boot device not found. Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

If you replaced the drive that had Windows installed on it with a new blank drive, then yeah, it's probably going to say no boot device.

Go into your BIOS and make sure that the new Samsung 980 is detected. If it is, proceed with a new Windows install per usual methods.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

this could be, though i believe the problem is that i didn’t disable the optane properly. Do you know if i just reinstall the optane if it will return to normal or will it just break things further?
