Hello everyone,

I spent a few months without playing any games, and suddenly I had that urge to Game again but my PC said nope.
I'd been experiencing a lot of black screens and reboots while gaming. Some games takes a little bit longer to crash(usually older games ex: Fallout 3, Shadow of Mordor, Furi), but the problems exists with every game of my Steam Library, to the point that some games don't even finish to load and I have my system crashing.
With Fallout 4 I managed to play in Low Quality for a while, but shouldn't be running with so much low quality, and still crashes.

Previous Specs:
ASUS B450M Plus Gaming

MSI Nvidia 970 Gaming 4G

Current Specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600

MSI X470 Gaming Pro (MS-7B79)

Radeon RX 590 Series(Fatboy) 8Gb

16GB DDR4 1066.4MHz

Thermaltake Smart 750W 80 Plus Bronze

Kingston Solid State 120gb

HDD Seagate 1TB

Things I did:

  • Reinstalled Windows 10
  • Install all Drivers
    • Installed Adrenalin 21.6.1 for the Fatboy(last release 29/6/2021)
    • installed AMD Ryzen Master for the Ryzen 5
  • Updated BIOS to 7B79v1l3(Beta version)
    • I was reading that a Downgrade will be better for this issue, but wanted to double check here
    • Other thing I notices is that my Windows OS configuration in the BIOS is CSM and not UEFI. Should I change this?
  • I stressed the GPU with Heaven & Valley Benchmarks(Unigine), nothing unusual
  • Stressed the CPU with the Ryzen Master software, nothing unusual

At this moment I don't know what else to try, I double checked my specs compability and the only "issue" found is that the MSI X470 Gaming Pro has an additional 4-pin ATX Power connector for "CPU-PWR2", I readed that this is not mandatory unless you want to Overclock your PC(Which I don't).

Thanks for the space, and let me know if this is the wrong category, first time posting here.

Cheers!

I would test if another power supply fixes the issue if you have access to that. Maybe check ram for errors / try one stick at a time to see if that resolves the issue.

CPU-PWR2 can be left empty indeed, no problem there

I changed the GPU to my old Geforce GTX 970 and worked again, it seems that my power supply can't handle the fatboy and the x470 motherboard. I will buy a Power Supply as soon as I can.

Thanks for your answer!
