Slow Upload Speed

So for a few months now on my desktop (ethernet directly to router) I've been dealing with "slow" internet. Most websites take a little bit to load, every youtube video has to buffer, but some websites like netflix straight up dont load at all.  

I'm getting my full 150 Mbps download speed but my upload is at most 5 Mbps but is usually less than 1. The strange part is when I turn on my VPN my internet is great (still not full upload but perfectly usable at ~80 Mbps). I plugged my PC directly into the ONT ethernet (I have Verizon Fiber) and my internet was perfect full 150/150. So this leads me to believe there is maybe something wrong with my router but I have no idea what it could be or how to diagnose really. I have reset my router and ONT, I have flushed my PC DNS, I have tried changing to google's DNS on my router, nothing changed. I have the Fios g1100 router. Any Ideas?

Have you tried a different router? If you already reset your router to defaults, it's probably failing somewhere.

What's the make/model of your router?

 

And the Verizon device is just an ONT and not a fiber gateway?
