How to water cool a Intel Socket G2 (pga988 socket) in a laptop

So basically i have a old Compaq Presario cq57 and i currently have Intel Core i5-2430M CPU 2 cores/ 4 threads @ 2.40GHz with intel hd 3000 graphics and 8gbs of ram which isn't to good so i want to upgrade to a Intel Core i7-3610QE 4 core/ 8 thread @ 2.30Ghz with intel hd 4000 graphics and possibly 16gbs of ram but I'm afraid if i do my cooling wont be enough for it and i checked the new CPU supports the socket and the chipset which is a Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset and its compactable but i need good cooling so I was wondering if there a way to water cool it so it can run really good and once I'm able to buy a new computer i can take the rad, res and, pump and throwing in my new pc but I'm having trouble trying to find a water block for my socket I know it sounds dumb but I'm doing cause my pc is kind of crappy rn and also it will be a cool learning experience and hopefully i can fix it up abit

You technically can use one of those cheap "universal" water block from AliExpress or something and stuck it on top of your heatsink (the part that sits on top of cpu) with some thermal Epoxy or something

I hate to be 'that guy' but if you're asking this then you may not have the appropriate skills to pull this off, but hey we all learn somehow and trial and error is certainly a way to learn!

 

First of all you'll need to take it apart and see if the heat pipe cooler engages any other portions of the board to cool them, if it does then you need to have that cooler in place and stick the water block onto the back of the original cooler with some thermal adhesive epoxy.

If the cooler is only for the CPU then you're a little better off, but you'll still need to have the fan plugged in so it'll boot, probably throw a halt on POST without a fan.

Next you'll need to order some brackets from China like these with the correct spacing. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32721340926.html

Then use them to affix the water block and plumb the rest up with an external 12V power brick to run the pump and fans on the radiator like normal but with just fixed speed stuff.

 

 

HOWEVER, I doubt you'll need water cooling. You could probably just stick a 90MM heat pipe tower cooler on there and it would be plenty of cooling.

So i found a waterblock that can fit mine so i was thinking to try to find a fan header to usb and have it plugged in something separate and make a mount beside my laptop to hold the rad and the pump and cut a hole in the back of the laptop to install the water block and have it work that way

USB is 5V, might run one fan or a really weak pump but probably not the best power source. A 12V charging brick with a couple amps capacity is going to be the best for this to run a pump and a fan or fans.
