Core 2 system

AMDMike

Anyone have a core 2 build still? Have some parts to start on one, I want to do a retro-mod style build, rgb fans and cooler, new case but an force board core 2 quad and 3x gtx 285s. Not for anything specific just for fun and to play some older titles like fallout 3 and far cry 2

As soon as i read retro and rgb 🤮

i do have a core 2 build but im gonna sell it pretty soon, im just in the process of finding another mobo since my g31m s2c is a monster ocer in terms of fsb, 500fsb easy only issue being the ram cant cope with the high fsb so also gonna want to get 1066 ddr2

What parts do you have anyways and what is your board chipset

Cause you do want to avoid the 41 and 43 chipsets as they get trounced on by 31 chipsets in terms of fsb ocing

31 goes around 450 but if you have a roided board itll go around 500

33 goes around 500

35 goes 600+

41 goes 370 but tops 390

43 goes ~400-420 but tops 430

45 goes 700+

x38 goes around 600

x48 goes around 700

And what era games you wanna play?

I have one, but its on its way to the scrap heap.  These days, if I need to run old software, I just do it via virtualization.
