TDR nvlddmkm.sys failure

Go to solution Solved by Athetis,

I ended up reinstalling windows and it worked like a charm.

I hope someone can help me find a fix to this problem.

Okay so basically my local hardware store called me and let me know my 3080 I had backordered in October has arrived and I had picked it up and installed it into my computer. My PC is running a i9-9900k with 32GB of DDR4 ram, Asus Z370-E and the new Gigabyte 3080 Gaming OC also with a 1200W PSU. Once I installed it my PC started just fine and I had entered my Windows PIN and I was ready to game, first thing I did was open up chrome and my PC blackscreened and rebooted. I figured it was new drivers or something so I let it do its thing but then it kept on happening and then bluescreens started to show with a TDR error showing that "nvlddmkm.sys" was the cause of the failure. Nothing would happen if I was idle at desktop its only when I launched any sort of application that was not utility.

I assume that since my PC recognized the Geforce RTX 3080 that it was not a hardware issue but a software issue but even after reinstalling drivers and various other attempts I am not sure as to what to try next. Game Ready drivers showed I was using a 3080 and also showed I had the latest drivers.

I don't currently have anything for reading dmp files, however that error could be tied to a nvidia driver conflict, I would recommend uninstalling drivers entirely, use something like DDU in safe mode and then reinstall the appropriate drivers to see if that resolves it
