Newbie to RAM timings

Hi there

I know the lower the better. But how to figure out what combination is best, I don't know.

I am looking to build a new PC later this year, it seems I can get my hands on a 6800 XT (Yay 馃槉)

The CPU is going to be a Ryzen 5600X

Currently I am looking at two different memory kits. If someone could help understand which one is best, and why?

Kit 1:聽Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4-3600 C18 (CL18-22-22-42)

Kit 2:聽Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 C16 (CL16-18-18-36)

Both kits are 2x16 GB btw.

Which one should (on paper) give the best performance, and why? maybe you can explain it, so I can understand it.

The reason why I am a little confused, Kit 1, is cheaper than Kit 2. (Approx 50 USD cheaper)

They would both perform the same. You can still manually lower the timings. I got mine from 16-18-18-36 to 14-14-14-28. Not 100% sure about this but I believe most 3200 kits can also do 3600 and sometimes even more

Using a RAM Latency Calculator (https://notkyon.moe/ram-latency.htm) you can see that:
Kit 1's聽absolute latency for memory access聽is聽10 nanoseconds.

Kit 2's聽absolute latency for memory access聽is聽10 nanoseconds.

So exactly the same.聽

I'd pick Kit 1 as it is cheaper. And that sweet RGB 馃槢

Many thanks. Very helpful 馃槉馃槑馃憤
