Hi, my GPU is toasted, so I need to buy a new one. Which should be better choice?

1. Asus Dual GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming Evo OC 6GB GDDR6

2. Gainward GeForce RTX 2060 Ghost 6GB GDDR6

3. Inno3D GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Twin X2 OC

4. Any GTX 1660

Im almost sure I will buy the Asus one. It has to be a new card, and these are the only ones available in my country at the moment that are worth to buy.

And I realize that with my current setup CPU will bottleneck my new GPU. I will upgrade my PC later with some new Ryzen, mobo, memory and rest. The question is, will the new card be compatible with the rest? Will the GPU work without any problems? It will look like this:

CPU : AMD FX-8350

RAM : 16GB HYPERX 1866

MOBO : MSI 970 GAMING

PSU : XFX PRO 750W

New GPU (probably): Asus rtx 2060 Evo oc OR

Inno3D GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Twin X2 OC

CPU: AMD FX-8350, GPU: MSi R9 390, MB: MSi 970 GAMING, RAM: 16GB HyperX 1866,

You'd see more of a performance uplift just upgrading from your current CPU.

It's a silly time to be looking for a GPU anyways, and none of the ones you listed are any good.

And I +1 the above, I have trouble believing your 970 is "toasted". Just perform your (should be at least yearly) maintenance on it, and it'll be fine.

My MSI R9 390 is broken and i really dont have time to "have fun" repairing it. And I will replace MB and CPU in the January/february

I suggest removing all of the paste on your gpu and dunking it in 99% isopropyl alcohol for an hour or 2, then take it out and wait a day for it to dry

Might aswell try reviving it before you throw it away

I mean yes, I will try to repair it after I buy a new one, and i will either sell it or keep it

Who said anything about repairing it? If the cards were somehow damaged under daily use (which is hard to fathom) than that's a real issue, and you need to take more precautions with your rig. Cards don't just die like that unless something is wrong with your system, not the cards.

[REDACTED - I have since realized that was your mobo, not a second GPU]

"Sounds to me like you've killed 2 cards in that setup already, an R9 390, and a GTX 970."

Troubleshooting should always be your first step to a problem, not buying new hardware.

Why? You need them more than a new GPU at the moment. We haven't even started troubleshooting for you because you've told us nothing. This is what we do here, we don't just give blind recommendations.

My GPU started having artefacts after playing 4-5 hours a day for 4-5 days straight. Many different colored shapes and forms, then crash report from GPU driver. I checked my system for viruses, then reinstalled GPU drivers. After that everyrhing got worse. I cannot login to windows because of the black screen. I see only uefi screen, windows loading logo with artefacts and black screen. At the PC service they told me GPU is broken, because pc works with another one perfectly. Temperatures didn't get above 65°C

And since other parts seems to work just fine, I have to fix/replace the GPU first. I know I need upgrades, but at this time I even have to get a small loan from my Dad to buy a new one. And when I pay all my debts, I will replace other parts.

That's a thermal issue, these cards don't do well under sustained load at high temperatures. Artifacts can also be caused by overclocking, chip degradation, and GPU sag (causing a bad connection). Undervolting your card might be a good start, after that try reapplying your thermal paste.

Neither of those cause artifacting, something probably went wrong within your strange method of troubleshooting this. That'd explain why it got worse.

Most of the time tech support doesn't know anything more about computer hardware than you do. That's why people resort to forums for multiple opinions, I'd never trust a Computer Service shop with any of my components. Of course your system would work fine with another GPU, but we already knew that the GPU was the issue so that doesn't prove anything.

Well, I tried to clean my old GPU with isopropyl alcohol, changed the thermal paste, but it didn't work. Found out even the HDMI on this card is broken. I bought myself Gigabyte rtx 3060 and everyrhing works fine. I only need to sell the broken one because im not in the mood to repair it or send it to repair shop.

And many thanks for any help ! <3
