Suddenly my GPU usage has skyrocketed without a known cause

Poiwzz

so, i have no idea what is going on, basically my GPU usage when idle on my desktop would be like 1-4 percent, now its at 60 percent when doing nothing, when i played warzone, it wouid be at like 50 percent getting 150 fps easy, now its at 100 percent usage and struggling to get 40 fps even on the lowest settings, it isnt really noticeable on other easier to run games, but a rtx 3080 shouldnt be at 60 percent while idle.... wtf is going on? its literally just started doing this today, on rocketleague i still have frame lock to 165fps but my usage is at 80 percent when on rocketleague it would barely go above 30 percent? why is the usage so high all of asudden?

Use task manager to see what is using your GPU when idle and gaming too, just alt tab.

So the system is already imbalanced if its only at 50 gaming. What are you using to check usage? If its task manager, look at the specifically to see what's being used and what's using it.

Not really like that, in my system the GPU is the bottleneck, but when i used to play ETS2 , and even minecraft, neither the gpu or cpu usage was maxed, and the fps is low.

Not necessarily if you lock your FPS, play on lower settings and resolutions or playing certain games that are older or not that performance heavy your usage shouldn't be that high. My 980ti doesn't go above 60% usage in CSGO despite getting 300+ FPS.

But yes his warzone numbers seem off.

What resolutions and settings?

60 percent on idle sounds way too high. Open task manager and look what is using all those resources.

One thing that came to my mind is crypto-mining malware.
