I have changed nothing, recently it has started loading something just out of nowhere. No idea what, all that happens is whatever I am doing becomes unresponsive & my pointer is doing the blue circle loading something. Not always, but sometimes I get the end process box when a prog/ is unresponsive, but it has MS Widows in the title bar. I hardly ever (don't even remember last time I did) anything, well Steam updates & game patches. I there a good all in 1 free system checku util? Also seems kind of slow.

was the computer damaged recently in any way, shape or form?

I think it's either your harddrive got damaged

or

infected with some sort of malware (viruses, trojans, etc..)

or...

windows is corrupt due to an automatic update or some other reason

i have no idea how severe the issue is or if you're just overreacting but from the way you're typing it seems that the computer suddenly became super sluggish or smth

i have a few solutions :

1 - run a scan usung malwarebytes or windows defender security

(i recommend the latest version of malwarebytes)

2 - check task manager for anything that is at a 100% usage

3 - clean install windows

4 - replace your HDD with another if one is available

or an SSD

(if your computer is old then an ssd will make a huge difference in its speed and snappiness)

edit : also try ccleaner

I have a ssd, no malware or viruses & it seemed to start a few patches back. Might be the famous windows rot, I will check disk health with crystal disk next boot. It isn't horrid, just not as fast.
