AIO Fan Placement

If I have an AIO can I put a push and pull fan on it. What I mean by this is that I have (2) fans on the RAD, on the same side (Not 4 fans). Can one of them push and one pull and it still work correctly? See attached photo.

technically it would work but the airflow would work against itself and actually produce worse results than both fans working in the same direction

Hey @Hyde23 I'm not sure why you'd want to run it that way and I believe you know it's kind of illogical as well. I guess your configuration could most likely create an area of slight pressure equalization at a certain part of the radiator which would mean little to no airflow.. I don't know how it would affect the temperatures IRL, since I don't believe many people test configurations like these as they make no sense.

 

Run your fans either in push or pull

doing the pulls warm air into the case, which the other fan will exhaust, resulting in worse performance.

 

Will it work?   I guess, yes it will.  Are other orientations better?  Without a doubt.

Thanks for all ur help! I guess my next question would be if I have 5 fans should I do 3 in and 2 out or 3 out and 2 in? My case is the Fractal Meshify C if that changes anything. It has pretty good ventilation.
