Ok so I want to build a PC to run 2 VMs. Ive built PCs So I know how that whole part works, but I was wondering how I could use 1 PC, say a 5700x and 3060 or so, to run 2 independant VMs. Is it possible to have them with their own I/O and file storing?

Also, Please give input on how or what VM Softwares are good and If i'd need a server and how much ram would be appropriate for like 30 chrome tabs, my parents are weird.

What tasks are the vms running?

Is your goal to have 2 users with their own keyboard + mouse + monitor? In that case, I woudln't use vms, id use a multipoint software like aster.

Most likely just editing text files, pdfs, and surfing chrome. My parents have their work laptops but also would like a desktop.

If it's one system, why not just give them two different user accounts?

The way im thinking about it is that they can use them at the same time in 2 different locations with the PC in a central display location. Both of their devices can be in their offices and can be used in tandem

They'd need two additional computers for that with at least a screen, keyboard, mouse, network and enough power to connect to the VMs to work on them. Would most likely be cheaper to just buy them two seperate PCs.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

Why not just get a home laptop? That seems much easier, and then they can move it if they want. You can get a docking station and use it as a desktop as needed.
