Hello again LTT forum. Since I'm done trying to get my interface to cooperate, I'm looking for some new open-back headphones around $100 usd. I usually game, but I prefer audio quality above all. Currently I have a pair of ATH-M40x with changed earpads. Mainly want open backed so I can hear myself while talking. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

How much difference in quality would that be between something like that and the 990 Pro or the X2HR?

The X2HR is basically the big brother of the SHP 9500. They are more balanced and have better drivers. The X2HR are very comfortable with the memory foam pads and the giant hammock headband is amazing. I do not like the 990 pros for music anymore since the treble is kinda annoying and piercing sometimes. I will strongly recommend the X2HR since they to me sound amazing for anything I throw at them.

One of the biggest differences between the 9500s and the X2 hr for me is how subpar the treble is on the 9500s. The grainy treble plus the bit of emphasis it has really ruins the headphone for me. Imo just save up a bit and get a tygr , a fidelio, a 58x or even the 560s.

Yeah, I was looking at spending a bit more then 70 and the Fidelio X2HR seemed like a better choice.
