19v adapter

Hello! My Samsung monitor a cgh70s psu recentely broke down. I found a replacement one but it’s 100€ I found a similar adapter for 50€ but it supply’s 19v while my monitor wants 22 would this work?

Probably not. However, you should be able to find a matching power brick by searching for voltage, current, and barrel jack size (check the label for the first two, measure the last).

My guess is they increased the voltage in order to keep the current low and reduce losses in the wires between the power supply and the monitor. They wanted up to 100 watts so they got 100w / 22v = 4.5A  - at 19v, the current would be  ~5.25A

 

It will probably work fine as long as you don't run the brightness close to 100% - the leds producing light in the back of the screen are the most power hungry components.

 

But... there's lots of online distributors of electronic components that sell power adapters with various voltages and barrel jack sizes ... tell us your country and what barrel jack the adapter has (take a picture if possible, measure inner diameter and outer diameter with a ruler or something)
