CPU getting hot for no reason

So today I've been running for 6 hours now and without any gaming just youtube my cpu has got to 75 degrees. This is really strange because just been watching yt vids at a room temp of 23 and outside of 29 is this ok? It is a Ryzen 3 3200g with stock cooler.

also: do you know that it ran cooler sometime before while watching YT?

could be bad thermal paste / application

It's around the 60's watching youtube but 75 is the hottest it's got but at first it was a little cooler but as it's such a hot day I'm even struggling xD

Sounds like a stock cooler in a poorly ventilated case. Possibly with an inadequate paste/mounting job.

 

We would need your case and your fan setup to really tell you more.

just looked it up

room temp for me is 26, 3600 with 280 aio peaks at 53 avg at mid 40s watching twitch. on a stock cooler, not knowing your case, its probably fine

Peak of 75 is totally fine. For reference, it's not even at risk of thermal throttling until 95c.

If you're curious, run a series of Cinebench or other benchmark / stress tests and see what your temps get up to after a bit.

 

That'll tell you more than a random spike

i mean its summer, of course things run a bit hotter, 60,70c while doing stuff for hours is completely normal at any time… then ok'ish cooling doesnt equal excellent cooling etc.

 

 

well, my cpu is at 48c, playing a game for many hours now

tho obviously i have an aftermarket cooler and a bunch of noctua fans in my case
