Why 850W PSU? Gonna be adding multiple GPUs later.

Why weird HDD setup? The SATA cable is too short.

Actually I'm getting decent frame rates in titles like Portal2 and Serious Sam3 everything maxed out 1080p.

But I'll upgrade that soon.

._. That thermal paste application looks kinda weird...

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

Nice cup. :P

Also I'd recommend pushing that Phenom II a bit higher especially with aftermarket cooling. I had one on stock cooling and pushed it from 2.8 to 3.4Ghz (non-black edition) and it ran at comfortable temps and noise levels.

240mm Magicool slim rad, 280mm Alphacool rad, D5 Vario pump, 1/4 ID 3/4 OD tubing, Noctua Redux 140/120mm fans. PSU: Evga 750w G2 SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB & Seagate SSHD 2TB Audio: Sennheiser HD558s, JBL! speakers, Fiio E10k DAC/Amp Monitor: Xstar DP2710LED @ 96hz (Korean Monitor) Case: Fractal Node 804

I love how basicaly everyone who owned an HP-prebuilt just gets a Fractal case.

Dat ghetto HDD mount :D

Also, switch that motherboard ASAP for something from Asus like M5A9x something something (depends on the chipset). Not because of stability or any of that stuff, just the boot time. You're using a WD Green drive, you need all the seconds. My boot time got so much shorter thanks to the new MB.

PC: CPU: Intel i7-4790 MB: Gigabyte B85N RAM: Adata 4GB + Kingston 8GB SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB GPU: XFX GTR RX 480 8GB Case: Advantech IPC-510 PSU: Corsair RM1000i KB: Idobao x YMDK ID75 with Outemu Silent Grey Mouse: Logitech G305 Mousepad: LTT Deskpad Headphones: AKG K240 Sextett
Phone: Sony Xperia 5 II

And maybe add an SSD later on? A complete lack of money is making me wait and see for now.

That mobo looks tiny in that case, hopefully you can update in the future but it seems like it is going well.

should have saved the money you used to buy the cooler and put it towards a better CPU/Mobo

why did you put so much thermal paste on. And you should spend the 4 dollars for a longer sata cable and that 850 watt psu is way overkill (so is mine though).

That's A LOT of thermal compound.

AMD has larger heat spreaders on their processors, so a bit more thermal paste won't hurt. austin, that's about how much there's left to spend.

I know that feeling man... Can't even afford new fans ATM.

:( yea, I wish to buy myself a fan controller with PWM fan connectors so I can plug in that inner 135mm fan of my cpu cooler in to make it work properly. The reason is that when I use an adapter and try plugging both fans in a cpu 3pin fan connector on my mobo, the 135mm fan doesn't work, but if I try plugging it in an optional fan connector, it weirdly overvolts it and makes it spin loudly. I am stuck with one 120mm front fan on that giant thing, which is enough to do even intensive tasks, but I am afraid to overclock my cpu because of that so I'll have to wait.

That is WAY too much thermal paste. As linus says a grain of rice or a pea should do fine.

Did you see the picture where I showed TIM imprint after the previous use? Look, full coverage and not much excess thermal paste on the sides:)
