wait this didnt help it just confuesd me more the ddu software guide says download the drivers first but your saying after also how do i restart my pc into safe mode

Alright, i'm going to make this very simple.

Grab a copy of the latest drivers for your GPU so you have them ready to go. Do not install them yet.

Download and run DDU. Click OK on any pop ups when you first open it. Do NOT worry about the safe mode warning, you do not need to run it in safe mode.

It will look like this:

image.png.d1e3a75619b996a902ef8020dd8c3af8.png

Select GPU then Nvidia where I have #1, then Clean and Restart where I have #2. Very easy.

Boot back up and install the latest drivers you downloaded already.

someone please help directx12 is driving me batsh** crazy everytime i adjust graphical settings in warzone it crashes and pops up with an error saying directx12 encountered and unrecoverable error but i need to change the graphics settings for the game to be even half playable on my pc running a ryzen 5 3600x 16gb 3200 ram and gtx 960 pending upgrade due to dumb prices

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling DX12 and then the game.

If that doesn't fix it then you might be able to find the settings in a config file someplace so that you can change them before running the game

i cant even find the directx file

I believe dx12 is built into windows.
Id use ddu to remove gpu drivers and then reinstall rhem

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Basically, you download the DDU software, restart your PC in safe mode then run DDU. Once that is done, restart your PC again just how you would normally and redownload your GPU drivers from Nvidia's website.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Well it wouldn't make sense to download it before using the DDU software because the purpose of that software is to remove all GPU drivers from the system. The easiest way to boot into safemode is to hold shift when clicking restart and it should come up with a list of 9 (I think) options and safemode is about number 5.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Safe mode is unnecessary and DDU isn't going to do anything about the driver installer sitting in your downloads, it does not touch that stuff.

The guru3d link should be the first hit on Google but...

https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Scroll down and select your region.

so another thing is it says i should disconnect from the internet is that also neccesary?

So, the reason for that is Windows likes to install drivers on its own. What you'd do is after clicking clean and reboot, you can pull your ethernet connection (or disable your wifi adapter i guess if you're using wifi..) until your drivers are back and fully installed just to ensure Windows doesn't try to install a basic Nvidia driver on its own. I've found this isn't really necessary either but I sometimes do just to to be safe.

I would recommend it, and I know that, but the way he worded was that he was going to install the new driver before using DDU which would be pointless.
