audio blasts loud static upon waking

Hello,
Brand new alienware m15. When I open the lid and it wakes up it makes this insanely loud static noise either right when I open the lid or the first sound it plays upon waking. Sometimes it lasts 20 seconds.

the dell support agent reinstalled all the drivers/updated the bios, still doing it. Should I just return the laptop, this doesn't seem normal. The speaker is gonna eventually blow out if it keeps blasting static so loud. I searched this problem and it seems to happen to other people too, but they all had older laptops.
