I'm in a desperate need for a graphics card. So I was on my countries equivalent of Craigslist and I found a guy selling his MSI RTX 2070 ITX for 100 euros, with a warning in the description that it crashes after starting some games. Naturally I got really excited and thought that that problem shouldn't be too hard to overcome, so my 5am detective part of mind starting scouting around the internet looking for cause of that problem and then the solution.

The problem seems have been the faulty Micron (and I heard some Samsung) GDDR6 modules and the solution to it was to just underclock the memory. I watched Tech Yes City's video on how that only took away 1-3fps from the games he tested and even said that it could just have been a margin of error.

Should I take the leap of faith and hope that underclocking would fix the crashing problem?

Yeah I been thinking of that too and just to minimize my possible loss I'm trying to negotiate the price a little. Wish me luck 😬
