why do a cheap chinese rgb lamp sometimes takes a while to light up?

the lamp is 15w

the lamp holder is 13w

 

the lamp for reference is this

 

after turning it off, using the switch, and turning it agan on

sometimes it takes a while to turn on

 

why? it doesn't happen always happen

Because it's a "cheap chinese rgb lamp"!

Could be something heat related or a bad connection.

 

The power supply could loop / constantly reset or something else could malfunction until some components inside get warm enough to have their technical properties shift/change enough to work right and then the whole thing runs.

 

Could be a bad connection, like for example the bonding wires of the led being loose and a small vibration or movement could move that bonding wire enough to make the connection and get the led to light up.
