USB 3.0 to Type C Speed Questions

The-Good-Doctor

Every time I google this, or search here it only results in questions about flash drives. My question is targeted towards the Oculus Quest 2 in particular.

I have went through 3, USB 3 type C cables rated at 5Gbps, and each time I test with the Oculus Link it gives me a speed of ~2.5Gbps.

I am assuming this is because its 2.5 up and 2.5 down but I'm not sure.

Can anyone tell me how this speed is allocated and how it works exactly.

Should I be getting a speed of 5Gbps? Is it my motherboard?

I doubt its the cable, I'm using the officially supported Anker cable.

Any help is appreciated!

If it works, then don't worry about the bandwidth in the tester.

According to this thread: getting around 1.8-2.5Gbps seems absolutely normal.

Enjoy your occulus link, if it works who cares about the numbers.
