I desperately want to upgrade my system. I have done an almost full rebuild from my old system. However, one of the things I wasn't able to upgrade was my GPU. Now, I'm getting close to being able to afford a proper GPU.

My specs:

Ryzen 5 3600

Msi Mag B550 Tomahawk

16gb 3600 Corsair RAM

750w EVGA PSU

Cooler Master 240mm Liquid Cooler

250gb Samsung 870 Evo SSD

500gb Westgate HDD

Corsair 4000D Airflow

Geforce GTX 670

My GPU is being bottlenecked to the floor and I really need to upgrade soon. Any advice on what GPU to get would be really appreciated 🙏.

Oh yeah, I'm looking at MSRP prices btw. I'm looking at 30 series cards, but im interested in AMD cards aswell. I do prefer Nvidia cards the most however.

Wait for a 3060. Perfect for your budget and needs.

I've been looking at several variants of the 3060. Is there one that you would specifically suggest?

Not necessarily. Typically I would have a greater opinion of the available options, but if you're lucky enough to get one at a good price, just take it.

Are you trying to push 1080p60? 1440p60? 1080p144? With 1080p60 even a GTX 1660 Super would be plenty for those games. If you're looking 1080p144 or 1440p60 then stuff like RTX 3060 starts making sense.

I'm trying to upgrade my system for future longevity. So, that said I'm feeling a 30 series card is best for me. I'm stuck with a 1080p 60hz TV rn (yes its a tv...) but I'm hoping to get a monitor for my birthday which is in about a month. So, I'll probably be going for 1440p gaming. I was thinking about a 3060ti but idk of thats worth the investment. And a 3070 would be too overkill for my cpu I think.

RTX 3060/TI is the best GPU for the build, Even like RTX 3070 is mostly enough for it. Bottlenecking a CPU can be a pretty rough nowadays, Because it just really depending on the scenario

but You can't really finding anything on MSRP rn, Maybe (If you live in USA, And infact you're) Maybe consider to camp on microcenter, I hear that the only path to get a GPU at MSRP. Or a online retailer for mostly double the price. like on amazon there are definitely in stock like RX 6700 XT, But double the MSRP. Price about 850+ USD...

I do have a microcenter about an hour away which is kind of convenient. But I'll try that, and best buy aswell. I've had a friend who got lucky with best buy and got a 3060 for msrp. It's just that for now, I'm trying to see what the community has to say.
