🧐 I need some help. What is the default setting for "Windows Update Medic Service" under the services tab for you? Windows keeps fucking up my dads taskbar. After certain updates it stops working. I just need to know what yours says.

It should be stopped and manual by default. Even if you change it, it will revert itself eventually.

EDIT: Also, this service has nothing to do with the taskbar. It's basically a service that just makes sure Windows is able to automatically update, such as checking and starting the BITS and Wuauserv services if they're disabled.

Why would you think that this service is causing you issues?

Well, because his taskbar stops working after certain Windows updates. Its very annoying. It has to be Windows related. Like, right now his search bar isn't working after I updated it again. WTF 😕

But the Medic process is supposed to repair and protect the Windows Update itself. This process launches when you run Windows Update troubleshooter.

😕 Well, I reset Windows, its working now. Hopefully it stays that way this time. 🤞
