The monitor I am moving from an Asus VG248QE and I am stuck between the LG 48" 4K OLED48C1AUB 2021, Odyssey G9, or LG 38GL950G-B. I will mostly be using it for gaming and youtube. They system has a 3090 as the gpu

The LG 38GL950G-B best overall and it have the best view (nano ips) you can overclock it to 175hz and cheaper than the others, the LG 48" 4K is a tv not good for gaming so this one would be my go

I have read they the tv has an input lag of only 5-6ms, also the LG 38GL950 is out of stock and production

Where did you read that? It's the best TV for gaming period. And it's as responsive as high-end monitors.

For me the major disadvantages are the huge 48" size (for a monitor) and the risk of burn in.

But this is the only monitor out of these that has noteworthy HDR.

I'm personally not a fan of the G9. It's curve and 32:9 format are just ridiculous imo.

However, in terms of performance it's very good.

Don't expect good HDR from it, even though it has a HDR1000 certification, the edge-lit backlight is terrible when it comes to local dimming.

The LG 38GL950-G is outdated. There is the newer 38GN950-B that is slightly better across the board. The only downside is that it's a native FreeSync monitor. But it's still officially certified as G-Sync compatible, so in the end it should not be an issue. Both of these monitors have very good response times but suffer from the typical low contrast issue with LG's nano IPS monitors.

If you want to buy a high-end monitor you have 3 main choices:

4K 144Hz

Here the LG 27GP950 is the best choice. If you don't need HDMI 2.1 for a console then get the cheaper last-gen 27GN950.

1440p 240Hz

Here the Asus PG279QM is the best choice.

1440p 144Hz ultrawide

If you want to go ultrawide, rather get the LG 34GP83A-B. It has the performance of the 38" monitors, but at a lower price. The only difference is the 4" smaller screen.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Yeah i'm really excited to finally see how well OLED stacks up in HUB's in-depth response time testing.
