Is this enough?

Mateyyy

Hi guys, I'm looking to buy two GTX 760s and run them in SLI, as an upgrade. The problem is that I'm not sure about the power supply.

I've got an 80 Plus Bronze be quiet! Pure Power 630W CM power supply, and I checked on Guru3D and they recommend a 700W power supply for two GTX 760s, but I used the Cooler Master power calculator, and it said that the minimum required PSU was around 490W. Also, my PSU natively supports SLI, they say that it's SLI/Crossfire ready and it has the PCI cables to power up two graphics cards.

What do you guys think? Do you think that 630W is enough? Thanks!  :)

630 should be enough but getting SLI 760's would be a ignorant choice when you could get a single 780 and get pretty much same performance but WAY less issues.

Considering a 760 has a 170W TDP,yes.

why SLI just get a 780 instead unless you plan to by one at the first time and then the second at a different time, and a 630w is plenty for a 780

If they recommend 700 might want to avoid crazy overclocking of the whole system.

Yes, putting two 760s in SLI is not recommended though.

It will run it but it will be a bit tight. This may or may not be of interest to you but check out this card. It has two 760s on one PCB http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8883740&SRCCODE=WEBGOOPA&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCV1-CjCE&gclid=CPOe9tqBxb0CFQNufgod05EAxQ

i find some of those calcs does it wrong, i saw one that had 2 different numbers on a single 780ti, one said it needed a minimum of 600W PSU and then another number said it needed 250 on load :S

Sorry to burst your bubble but 760 SLI greatly out preforms a single 780 http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4632/geforce-gtx-700-series-sli-review-geforce-gtx-760770780-in-sli-and-3-way-sli

I can't see the link but I guess it's a 760 Mars

I know it, but the power consumption is pretty close..

NO. NO. NO... No. Just no. You can get 780ti's for that price and SLI just has too many issues.

Didn't really burst my bubble, 10-15fps more when you are already getting 100fps+ isn't a big deal. Yes there were a few games that the 760 SLI scaled better than that but those were above 100fps also. The ACTUAL performance different isn't that big, yes the 760 SLI is faster but for the lower energy costs and higher OC'ing from the 780 from it not being in SLI, and the 1gb more Vram in my opinion is the obvious/intelligent choice. Especially when the OP is running a mAtx motherboard in a arc mini r2. Also the 780 won't be so hard on his PSU, a long with the other benefits on not running SLI.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to get a GTX 770 4GB, and maybe SLI in the future along with a PSU upgrade. Thank you!  :D
