I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard around $50 cad. I don't really need any sort of lighting and I prefer red switches. Should I go for a redragon or another cheap mechanical keyboard on amazon or Canada computers or go for the razer cynosa chroma that is on sale right now.

I've got a redragon k552, rainbow, red switch variety, its been fine with me for about half a year now

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

The redragon k552 is about the best you can get for that price.  It comes with outemu switches and sometimes it's hotswappable (depend which version) with other outemu switches so if you get tired of one type of switch, if you want to lube them or if one just fails you can replace them easily enough without desoldering.  By removing the switches you can also remove the stabilizers to lube them.  Careful as it is not compatible with other brand of switches without having to file down the contact legs of the switches as they are thicker on other brand than on the outemu ones.

The K552 is a noisy keyboard by itself.  I have the blue version and they are plagued with spring ping that gets amplified by the metal plate and the really hollow case, it has nothing to do with the click of the blue switch btw.  The cable is not detachable.   That being said it's still a nice keyboard if you don't mind those small downside, it's build like a tank and will most likely last for years.  By the way, if you get the rgb one there's no functioning easy to find and install software so you seriously should consider only using it with the hardware side of it.  There's also a rainbow version of it with fixed color which is awful imo ... and there's a no light at all version which is cheaper.   With each lighting option, you can get the keyboard in black or white.
