GPU reconginsation

So problem is as follows, 

I have two identical GPUs installed into the first two PCI-E 16x lanes onto my motherboard which i run in sli. The are running in 8x/8x due to the Z77 limitation - i believe.

I Have A GTX 650 Ti Boost underneath them in a PCI-E 16x slot which servs as a PhysX card.

My problem is that the 650 is always being recongised as GPU1 in benchmarks and temperature sensing programs.

Is there any way i can make it so that the top GTX 660 is GPU one (the one where the display is attached to) The other GTX 660 be GPU two and lastly my PhysX 650TiB to be GPU three, for consistancy sake?

move your 650 into a slot that isn't inbetween them, if need be, move the two identical GPU's into the closest slots possible, then move the 650Ti into another slot, may i ask, what are your main GPU's? physx cards are kinda useless now that we have quite powerful cards

This kind of setup is now ancient...this is much power utilization as well as heat output doesn't make sense to me...i think u should go for something in the line of maxwell or upcoming 800 series...but ya for now do as person ^ said... :)

move your 650 into a slot that isn't inbetween them, if need be, move the two identical GPU's into the closest slots possible, then move the 650Ti into another slot, may i ask, what are your main GPU's? physx cards are kinda useless now that we have quite powerful cards

the top 660 is the main GPU which has the displays connected to it. The second 660 has the SLi bridge connected to it and the first one. the 650 i use for PhysX

i dount you'll get £400 for those cards, why not sell them now and get a 780?

Ya sure it works fine but still i would prefer more of a single beast card rather than sli with dedicated Phys X...

N thats what i m saying u can probably wait for 800 series to be out...and then sell them and go for high end card...much cooler and more powerful... :P

Im talking  about selling them on eBay. Good money there. Not a huge fan of the 700 series.

Just get rid of the PhsyX card - it barely makes a difference 

 

Only like 3 games take advantage of the tech and even then you might only get about 5 fps boost

I guess you already have it lying around so its free performance, but try take it out and see if the game still runs ok, maybe you just dont need it in?

All games run okay without the card.

since the GPU is so similar in the GTX 660s there's not much of a performance hit.

It even uses 0% GPU power in non-physx titles. so effectively it is off most of the time.

All games run okay without the card.

since the GPU is so similar in the GTX 660s there's not much of a performance hit.

It even uses 0% GPU power in non-physx titles. so effectively it is off most of the time.

Fair enough this just came up because I just upgraded to a 780ti and my old 580 now has no home so was going to use it as a PhysX card but not sure I will benefit

All you can do is just test it with PhysX titles. Even so if it serves no use you could sell it for a good price.

Nice. that 580 is still good today so it will be good for him.

The issue im having i could live with it. Might just be Programs being silly.
