Budget (including currency): 1000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FL Studio, COD, Forza Horizon, Light editing on DaVinci Resolve, browsing

Other details: I already have a great new Case, Ram and graphics Card - Fractal Meshify S2 Compact, TridentZ 2x16GB, MSI RX 6700 XT. My Goal is to Upgrade significantly from my Ryzen 7 1800x.

What Motherboard, CPU, Cooler, PSU & SSD Combo would you recommend?

Is the Ryzen 7 5800X a good CPU for that pricepoint? Or do I have to get the 5900X?

Any Suggestions are welcome :)

Greetings from Germany

You have done well with RAM. Pick a CPU with higher clock speeds, 4 cores should be plenty, so you can save a lil there picking something cheaper than Ryzen 7 5800X. 6 cores could be the golden middle ground, look at AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.

You don't need SSD to make music, but OS boot and program launch times would improve. 2.5 inch SSDs are good enough, but you will need to buy a SATA cable too.

Don't cut costs on power supply get one from reputable brand, maybe https://www.amazon.de/s?k=corsair+550w&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

I don't play games that require upgrading computer.

Hi

I think you can stay with the amd ryzen 7 5800x for now (if you want future proof i would sugest you to take the amd ryzen 9 series )

motherboard -

Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard

pls add an nvme boot drive like wd digital blue 500 gb and add an hard drive for your files

COOLER - air - hyper master 212 evo or noctua nhd15
aio- Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360

power supply - go for corsair CX650

You can get 5800x that's probably fine

For SSD asumming just for the DAW, Os, and some applications go with sn750 or sn550 the capacity is upto you but don't go bigger than 1tb for Synth and other vst and effect hdd is still fine

For Cooler you can get ethier scythe fuma 2 or nh-u12s redux

For psu you can get revolution d.f 750w or Corsair rmx or bequite power 10/11 series

Motherboard you can get a b550 tomahawk or rog b550 F/A or Asus Tuf variant ethier b550 or x570

Out of curiosity, what genre are you making?

Great to see so many replies!

Current PC is shown here:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/X9XLQD

(It was in a Mini Case, but I upgraded GPU and Case a few months ago)

I mainly do Metal and Rock, but I want to get into Hip Hop and Pop/Indie and I love samples and Impulse responses.

I have many Drives:

8TB HDD is for Backups and Games (got it for a great price!)

2TB HDD is for music projects and Samples

500GB SATA SSD is for offen played games, so they can Boot faster.

250GB M.2 SSD is for Windows and FL Studio

Also an external 5TB HDD for Project backups
