My cpu is an i3-1005g1(ik its a craptop). Recently I was facing heating problems so I decided to undervolt it. Out of curiosity, I decided to increase the voltage in Throttlestop, and it seems like... I kinda overclocked my locked cpu. Its maximum frequency is 3.40 ghz, and it goes to 3.43 or jumps to 3.5 for a second but then return to 3.4 ghz. The jumps in frequency happen randomly. I cant always monitor my task manager and getting a screenshot is too difficult. Any idea why this happens? Is it because I won the silicon lottery? What is exactly happening here?

System Specifications:

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz   1.20 GHz

Ram: 8.00 GB (7.77 GB usable)

System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Operating system: Windows 10 Home

(Note: I got the fan replaced, reapplied the thermal paste, cleaned the vents(there was not any dust in them), and now the heating issue has been resolved

Its a locked cpu, only way that can go above its max freq is bclk increase, so most laptops usually run around 99.5-99.8 bclk, i think whats happening here is you laptop for whatever reason jumps to 101 or 102 bclk which explains the freq jumps, but if the cpu multi is 34 and you are reporting that it jumps to 3.5 then looks like your bclk jumps to 103.

Download and install cpuz, and check if the bclk freq goes over 100.

If it doesnt go over 100bclk yet your cpu jumps to 3.5 then idk whats happening here

Ok I will see. If it actually increases the bclk, can I make the change to blck permament? That would be pretty cool. Overclocking a locked cpu. Also thermals is no problem.
