I am upgrading from an iPhone 4 to a new phone. I want to go android because I want to try something besides IOS. I am considering (I'm in Canada so the plans are likely awful): HTC ONE for $0 with 50/mo plan, LG-G2 for 200 with 50/mo plan, Samsung Galaxy S4 for 200 with 50/mo plan. I do not care much for storage but I do care for quality. The phones previous were from Wind Mobile, I like the unlimited data (I use too much) and the prices. Sony Xperia Z1 (I could use the waterproof feature) 100 on telus $60/mo plan, Samsung Galaxy s5 for 230 on tels $60/mo plan, or a Nexus 5 for 400 and a sim on a plan.

Which is best for quality? Which is best for features? Which plan is better? Any other recommendations?

Ps. I need a lot of battery life, I go out out of town a lot and need a phone that will last a day of medium-heavy use (with charging in the evening).

HTC One, I have one its fantastic.  Esspecially from an iphone I think you'll find it simillar and even better than your iphone.  If you got a Samsung... touchwiz would poison you and you would forever hate android.  Get the cheapest plan, getting an expensive plan will get you stuck in debt and then you'll be stuck with the same graphics card for years and not being able to buy the all new EA games, that we all LOVE

best Android phone, pure android.  Its amazing and really cheap, doesnt need a contract.  Nexus = fast, sleek, tons of updates and will keep you feeling happy even after generations of phones have passed.  HTC One = great phone, iphone-like, great experience but you will feel sad when the new "One" comes out. Wait for the HTC one m8, its the new "One"

Wait for the Xperia Z2. It's better than the Galaxy S5 in pretty much every way and should come out around the same time (if not a couple weeks later)

too bad the nexus 5 has a shitty battery and no expandable storage. Also the cheap price of the nexus 5 doesn't matter if you have a contract because it ends up costing as much as a 600$ phone in that case.

Nexus 5= awesome unlocked phone. For contract plans, not worth it.

When is that? I'm fairly sure that s5 is in late April.

32 gigs is plenty for a phone.

Battery life is fine on my end 5-6 hours of screen on time wifi

Nexus 5 is cheaper than all of those phones up there.

Another recommendation is the Moto X

or if you want a lower price point than everything go Moto G

Sony Xperia Z2 should be there instead of the Z1. Comes out in a couple of weeks.

What are the benefits? If its like the S5 or M8 in changes? If so, I think it would be not worth the extra cost.

It's minor changes like the GS5 and HTC One (M8) but still allot better than Z1 but i would rather get a GS5 or HTC (M8)
