Hi all,

I’ve had a stutter issue since I first got my 3070. It’s a gigabyte gaming oc 3070 8gb.

I’ve been trying to fix this for months but nothing seems to help so once again, I ask for your help..

Most gsmes have some form of stutter, Borderlands 3 has a micro stutter every 15 seconds or so but is playable. Cold war lags on larger maps but is playable on small maps. Games like battlefield are unplayable as it’ll stutter every second almost. Lowerer spec games such as Knockout city/arkham knight run perfectly fine and stable..

I’ve used windows perf analyzer anf can see ntoskrnl.exe and ndis.sys have most issues in the dpc/isr list.

This seems similar but I can’t do their fix as they are old drivers:

Any suggestions? I’ve tried everything.

Gonna need your complete system details. ntoskrnl is the NT Kernel and NDIS is network Network Driver Interface Specification, neither of which has anything do with your graphics card or its drivers.

Hi all,

my PC has been stuttering for a while and I can’t fix it.

In games (borderlands 3 for example) it will freeze for a micro second when doing things such as shooting an enemy, or if a new mob pops up it can lag for half a second and then resume, it can be smooth a majority of the time. Some other games are unplayable, Battlefield V will stutter every second.

I have looked in WPA and it seems to be ntoskrnl.exe causing most issues. Amdppm.exe has also appeared quite a lot.

I’ve tried fresh windows install, new drivers, bios OC settings..

windows 10 latest update (occurs on all versions)

ryzen 3600

Kingston hyperx 3200hz ddr4

ASUS prime b550m-k

Gigabyte OC Gaming 3070 8gb

I’ve looked on other forums and I believe it is due to ISR queues but not sure how to diagnose.

Have you tried a game with MSI Afterburner in the background. So you can see the loads and when it stutters.

Not a bad idea at all and worth trying.

however, this all sounds like bad harddrive to me, which isnt as easily figured out as software measuring the drive "health" is often deceiving.

I’ve tried two separate brand new SSD’s.

I’ve also tried nearly every single nvidia driver compatible with 3070.

With the afterburner suggestion, what exactly am I monitoring and how?

in this case… GPU usage, CPU usage on all cores.

you can just play a game for some time and when the stuttering occured you exit and check in afterburner (think you need enable each parameter first though)

and then u just check when something happened with the framerate if anything was at or close to 100 percent or dropped for some reason, that should give you some clues as to whats actually happening.

FB and VID simultaneously drop when the stutter occurs
