What GPU should I buy?

Someone decided to add a 3070 which was in stock for a few days and then sold out... \:(

 

Would a 20-series card work for my use? Raytracing would be nice for some other uses, but I don't know if that's just the 30-series (is it?)

 

Preferably something I can actually get online, and soon.

I would go for something other than the 3000 series right now unless you find one at MSRP. Their prices are too out of control. A 2070 could be a good option.

2070's are only on ebay, been looking for an exdisplay or a used one for a while. Can't find one anywhere apart from ebay

Honestly, Good luck trying to find any gpu's anywhere. Unless you want to spend way too much money for it, there is a very slim chance you'll find a card for a decent price. Also what Veosyn said, if you are going to get a 3000 series I would just wait until the next gen comes out because then miners and people are going to start selling theirs. I would recommend the Nvidia 1080 ti if you can find it.

I found a 1070 which will keep me under budget. I think I'll use it for now and I can return it if it won't work for me.
