So any quad core cpu can handle x264 encoding at 1080p60?

Yep, for budget id suggest lga 1156 or lga 1366, if not going on a budget then just stick with 3rd gen ryzen

Budget (including currency): Lowest Possible

Country: India

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Only streaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I have a good gaming PC with an old GPU. My pc gives me a decont performance and fulfil all my needs. But I was unaware of the fact that earlier AMD GPU's have sh#t encoder, thats is why I am unable to stream @ 1080p60 on youtube. So I was thinking to build a second PC for streaming only as I have a spare capture card. What will be the minimum requirements for a pc to stream at 1080p60 on youtube?( Pls suggest the build of price as low as possible, and I preffer not to use recently launched products as they are very expensive and are not available in second hand market)

honestly if you use an entire PC just for streaming you can use almost anything because you can take the entire performance just for encoding.

If you can get an 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen CPU´s or 8 - 10th gen Intel CPU thats basically all you need.

Going for intel is probably the easiest way because you can use the iGPU.

Weird. I can easily watch 1080p 60fps video on my Pentium G3220 with integrated graphics. I recommend you to install "enhanced-h264ify) extension as it forces YouTube to playback h264 video instead of VP9 which is not hardware accelerated.

Why would anyone want a pc with such specs just for watching videos. Even a Pentium Gold would be more than enough for this job.

True but if you dont want to face any issues you can still go with 4 core / 8 thread like the I3 10100f its for like 90$

Yea first or second gen ryzen will do just fine, if you are lucky you might find a good deal on an x58 board and a xeon but thats pretty rare.

You might get lucky with a good deal on a dual socket mobo or dualsocket system but thats also pretty rare, i have deals on asus z8na-d6 in my area but all the 771 boards are overpriced to sht, i can find x58 boards for around 100$ aswell in my area.

So for general reasons go for 1st or second gen ryzen

Sir, I want to 'stream', not that typical Netflix type stream.... Streaming means to play games and upload it to youtube at the same time. I was referring to this streaming.

Then a 1st gen Ryzen 5 should be good enough for this job. Also, Don`t call me Sir I am probably a lot younger than you.

Sir not that kind of streaming.... I am a casual gamer and want to live stream my games on youtube and twitch just like other streamers

Idk anything about indias local pc hardware market so i tend to not reccomend people used parts cause that heavily relies on their location.

If youve got p55 boards going for 30-50$ and x3440s going for 15-25$ id say thats a good deal cause you can oc the crap out of these lga 1156 xeons via baseclock overclock.

If youve got x58 boards going for 80-120$, and x5675s for 30-40$ then id say that is a good deal aswell, cause again x58 xeons rely heavily on overclocking

OK. So you want to live stream games without the PC getting painfully slow? Then a Capture card like this should do the trick.

Heres a system that might work (may have to copy paste links manually)

https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005002116972965.html
Cheap chinese x58 board that can oc, but you need to put a fan over the northbridge and vrms, and maybe add some extra heatsinks to the vrms. Around 44$

https://m.aliexpress.com/item/33016983047.html about 42$ for 8 x 2 1600mhz ecc ddr3

https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32784949567.html w3670 6 core xeon with unlocked multi so if temps are too high on the northbridge then you can multi oc instead of bclk oc.

https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000874015843 a good 4 heatpipe cpu cooler, i suggest getting the 2 fan configuration, the rgb fans perform worse than the non rgb fans so dont sacrifice your performance for looks, not at this budget atleast.

The rest of the parts are in this pc partpicker

Actually i think its more worth it to switch to this board https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4000345381105.html

Get 3 sticks of 8gb non ecc ddr3 1600 (also on aliexpress but maybe you can find it locally instead) for 24gb total ram.

Buy a usb programmer like this one https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32793476447.html and flash the bios to rampage iii extreme.

if you are wondering why flash the bios its because on their lower end boards in the past, asus crippled the bioses so by flashing a better bios to your board, you will get a noticable improvement in ocability (did this with my p5q and flashed a p5q pro turbo bios on it and it overclocks much better now).

Seems like at the time of posting this, these upgrades will cost around 60-80$ more but the ocability will improve greatly so instead of 4ghz you can go 4.5 or 4.8 even 5ghz with sufficient cooling and you will have 24gb of ram in triple channel instead of 16gb of ram in dual channel
