Budget (including currency):   A little over $3000 USD

Country:  United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  NAS, virtualization, possibly computational fluid dynamics

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Current parts either on hand or awaiting arrival after buying online:

CPU:  Ryzen 5950x

Motherboard:  AsRock Rack x570d4u-2l2t

Case:  Fractal Design Define R5

HDDs:  6x 7200RPM SATA III 8TB (Western Digital, I forget the exact model)

HBA:  LSI 9211-8i

SDD:  SATA III Samsung EVO 860 512GB

RAM, NVMe SSD, PSU, etc I still have yet to pick out, but that will be pretty straight forward.  I'm concerned about cooling my 5950x, and concerned about cooling the x570 chipset since this board only has passive cooling via a heat sink.  The spacing is pretty tight on this board, so as much as I'd like to Air cool the thing, an AIO water cooler may be a better option.  I may have to macgyer the chipset cooling but that shouldn't be a big problem, just need some forced crossflow over the chipset cooler.  Anyway, what would you guys suggest for a reliable, relatively quiet cooling solution for this setup?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

The fanless boards have a lower chipset TDP, so I wouldn't be to worried about it overheating since that's rare anyway.

A big old noctua NH-D15 would be my go too.

Thank you for your input.  I just want to make sure the noctua doesn't block any PCIe or RAM slots.  If it doesn't, I'll go for it 100%.
