Hey so I wanted to reset my pc completely and start out fresh so I created windows installation media to do that. I managed to wipe the drive and install a new version of windows onto it. However, a weird thing has been happening where a message has popped up saying “the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed...” you get it. I tried all of the strategies on this site but nothing has changed: https://windowsreport.com/computer-restarted-unexpectedly/?amp             Please help!

Where you're saying "you get it" is actually where we can find important information pertinent to the failure - can we have your error code to begin with? Have you tried deleting the partition and creating a new one?

Happy to help.

The best advice I can give is read the pinned posts in the troubleshooting section referring to what kind of information is needed to diagnose and fix a problem.  The bright side of PCs is if something has happened it’s probably happened to a couple hundred or more people before you and a fix is well documented.  Got to figure out what is actually wrong first though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
